A home for wildlife.
A place for people.
Over Sixty thousand acres of protected habitat. Sixty-five miles of river. A legacy for the future of West Tennessee.
Conservation
Protecting nature in the heart of West Tennessee.
The Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge is a vital sanctuary for migratory birds and hundreds of wildlife species — and we’re its official nonprofit partner.
For decades, the Friends of Tennessee NWR have worked alongside the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to support conservation, fund education programs, host community events, and ensure that 60,000+ acres of woodlands, wetlands, and bottomlands remain protected for generations to come.
Here along 65 miles of the Tennessee River, our refuge stands as a powerful example of conservation in action — safeguarding critical habitats, supporting a remarkable diversity of wildlife, and providing a place where wildlife, water, and people come together.
And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul.— John Muir
